H&H: My Refrigerator

For my H&H blog group, Laura has challenged us to describe our fridge inside and out. You can click her name to see hers. Or click our fellow H&Hers names: Jen and Carla to see their fridges!

Here's a look at mine.

First, I am super glad that she suggested this topic yesterday, as I just got home from the grocery store with TONS of groceries! Had it been the day before, my fridge would have been almost empty! Ellie's 3rd Birthday party is this weekend, so that accounted for a lot of my 2 carts. Yes, I said two carts. I took only the baby with me, but she was in her carseat, so that took half my cart! I piled stuff all around her and in the toddler seat above her and in the bottom of the cart until stuff was falling out. I remembered my friend Bethany who has twins telling me she had to use to carts when shopping with them, so I thought I can do that.... umm, I found out that, no, no, I can't. There was quite a show at my local Walmart yesterday as I tried to figure how in the world she managed to do that with two babies, because I couldn't hack it with one! Of course, as soon as I started piling stuff in the second cart, Fionnuala woke up screaming to be nursed. Always good times at Walmart, always. In hindsight, I should have left both carts and went and fed her, I decided instead to try and make my way to the checkout with both carts and holding her. Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed not a single person asked if I needed help moving a cart to the checkout or adding my groceries to the belt since I was doing it with a fussy baby in one hand. :-(

But, I made it home, had a ton of groceries I had just put in my fridge when I got the message to do this project, so here it is!

What's in my fridge?

Top shelf- OJ and Milk... notice the big empty spot? That's where my Mt. Dew used to live. RIP dear friend, I've given you up and am on Day 3 without your sweet, sweet, wonderfulness.

Shelf 2- TWO containers of Cinnamon Butter! The kids LOVE this and yes, I know I could make it myself... too lazy. Also: sour cream, cottage cheese, fiber cottage cheese, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light, and a lonely Jell-O whose friends have all been eaten.

Shelf 3- A 2L of Diet Coke for the party. Yoplait kids yogurts that have the active cultures for Ellie's tummy- added bonus- they are Hello Kitty! Gogurts, Protien Gogurts for Grace who is a vegetarian, and Greek yogurt for Brian.

Shelf 4- Coke for the party (Yes, I chose to buy pop I don't like so I was tempted. No Mt. Dew guests, sorry. Does that make me a bad person?), 1/2 a tub of yummy cookie dough my friend brought us when Brian was out of the country, sharp Irish cheese, a tub of last night's leftovers, and cheese slices and 2 bags of Kraft sharp cheddar cheese- both for the party.

Vegetable drawer- bag of flour and 27 million teethers. Yes, I have no vegetables in my fridge and a million teethers... what does that say about me. Don't worry folks, all our vegetables are the steamers bags and are in the freezer.

Bottom drawer- Brian's lunchmeat for work and hotdogs.

IN the door- Eggs- I think they are expired actually...., Smuckers grape jelly, kidney stone killer a.k.a. lemon juice, Heinz ketchup, Imperial margarine, Hershey's chocolate syrup and I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. The other two shelves have Soy sauce, Worcestershire, Ellie's Gerber toddler pear juice that is suppose to be easier on her tummy than apple, some instant pizza dough, some biscuits in a can, real butter for cooking, whole milk for cooking, pickles and BBQ sauce.

Back in the day, pre-kids, I had a nice pretty fridge with NOTHING on it. I've got a "MOM FRIDGE" now.... It has magnets from last year's dance recital, Fionn's ultrasound, her cute baby pics and her birth announcement, our Christmas card from last year, pictures the kids have made, all our Leapfrog fridge toys, the Summer reading program info, summer swim lessons info and Grace's summer acting info.

The side contains all of THIS year's dance recital photos.... we had SEVEN dances, so I didn't have room for them on the front! Also is the poison control #, my shopping pad list-only empty because I just came home from Walmart!, my weekly dinner planner, another picture a kid made and a picture frame that has apparently lost its photo!

What's in your fridge????

  1. I have never thought to buy (or make!) cinnamon butter. Will have to check that out!

Good idea to buy soda you won't be tempted to drink.

  2. I loved the teethers, but no veggies comment! And find it interesting that you keep Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce in the fridge. I keep mine in a cabinet. Does it keep longer in the fridge?

  3. I put those sauces in the fridge - don't they say to?
